This new contract opportunity exists within a company that are wholly focused on operational excellence and end user experience. They are experiencing a unique and positive period of transformation and investment around how security is managed and monitored across the organisation and now require 2 x Senior Cyber Security Engineers to work in a cyber security operations team responsible for monitoring, assessing and defending key information systems and application environments from internal and external threats. 
 
The Opportunity:
The opportunity will see you step into a senior Cyber Security Engineer role and provide technical expertise across security event analysis, threat intelligence management, cyber security incident response and management, and investigation support.

Utilising a toolset covering Vulnerability Scanners, Antivirus and EndPoint Protection, SIEM, Content Filtering Platforms and IDS, you will identify threats and incidents in a timely fashion and seek opportunities to automate and triage alerts and incidents to achieve more efficient and effective responsive capabilities.
 
What we’re looking for in you:
  • 3+ years in an Information / Cyber Security Engineer focused Operational role.
  • Strong technical knowledge around networking technologies, Firewall technologies, Web Application Firewall technologies, data leakage and anti-malware technologies.
  • Strong hands-on experience with vulnerability management tools (Qualys or Nessus) and operation of log management and SIEM (e.g. ELK, QRadar, Splunk.).
  • Encryption and Authentication concepts or systems
  • Good understanding of Essential 8, ISO27001, and/or NIST Framework.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in complex and diverse technology environments.
  • Knowledge and commercial experience with industry standard security practices
  • You keep up-to-date with industry trends and issues in security and risk management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – ability to influence and consult.
  • Strong focus on the customer and business needs.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in related field – Desirable.
  • Industry Qualifications – Highly Desirable.
