This is a superb opportunity to be part of an established FIN TECH  group with a fabulous team culture and brand collateral. This FIN TECH group has been established for over 15 years, they have worldwide presence with the current growth in Canada and the USA. This newly created position is available due to their Risk function brought in-house and this will lead the successful incumbent to assist in establishing, socialising and growing the maturity of the Group Technology – Line 2 Risk function. You will report to CEO and will initially have a hands-on position, dealing with co-source providers, your mandate to establish a robust risk function.
 
Your duties:
  • Improvement to the current Technology risk frameworks & policies and if required, design and develop new risk frameworks and policies;
  • Ensure frameworks are moving towards best practice; and appropriate for the risks encountered by the organisation;
  • Socialise the Governance framework across the broader business, including the Board and management steering committees;
  • Assist in the  planning process, risk notes to the financial accounts, risk reporting, dashboarding etc;
  • Recruit, coach and lead a team of staff;
  • Strive to implement best practice in governance, new and improved approaches to IT framework and policy design including emerging risks;
  • 2nd Line of Defence focus -  80% Tech Risk / 20% Operational Risk (Business focus);
  • Other – Data Privacy / Data into Cloud / Cyber / Security / SOC 2 Compliance / Risks around System Development / Project Assurance / risks around Billing platforms, Agile and Azure environment.
The ideal candidate will:
  • Be CISA / CRISC / CISSP / CISM certified or have related qualification;
  • Experience in either ITIL / COBIT / or NIST frameworks needed;
  • You will have a proven track record in leading a Tech Risk function with exposure dealing with executives.
  • If currently in Line 1 or 2 Tech Risk, you will have implement Risk & Compliance frameworks recently or in the past;
  • Above average communication and relationship management skills is essential;
  • You will be balanced, outcome focused, commercial and pragmatic in your approach with a strong strategic mind.;
  • Proven ability to influence a wide stakeholder group with an adaptable style is essential.
