The Role:
Being one of the largest financial institutions with a strong global presence, the group offers a broad range of financing solutions spanning lending, investment and insurance services. They are inviting mid to senior-level banking or regulatory lawyers to join their regional legal team of 10 based in Hong Kong.

In your new role, you will
  • Partner with diverse business streams and leaders in the Group to drive new initiatives and enhance the portfolio of banking products and services across different regions
  • Oversee all legal and financial regulatory matters in relation to the business; provide strategic advice in shaping the direction of business growth
  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements; manage the documentation process for financing transactions
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks and provide training on legal policies and procedures
  • Monitor legal trends and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Respond to regulatory bodies and handle queries/investigations when needed
  • Coordinate with global external counsels and consultants on legal opinions

Requirements:
  • Hong Kong qualified lawyer with 6-8 years PQE from international law firm or reputable financial institutions
  • Sound knowledge and experience in handling banking or financial regulatory matters
  • Strong articulation and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive team player with the ability to work under fast pace
  • Fluency in both English and Chinese (including Mandarin)
