The Role:

We are partnering with an energy and utility player to appoint a General Counsel—a pivotal leadership role driving the company’s legal strategy, contract governance, and regulatory compliance. 

This is a people manager position, overseeing all legal matters across the business, from high-value commercial contracts and financing documentation to litigation, corporate governance, and cross-functional advisory work. You will shape the company’s legal framework, build robust contract management processes, guide senior management on key legal risks, and support the full lifecycle of major projects. You will work closely with Finance, Portfolio, Fuel Management, Retail, and external counsel, ensuring the organization remains compliant, protected, and commercially agile within Singapore’s evolving energy regulatory landscape.

Requirements:
  • Law degree with 10–15 years’ experience, including strong exposure to commercial, project, regulatory, and financing matters.
  • Experience preparing and negotiating a wide range of corporate commercial contracts (Business legal advisory, supplier agreements, retail power agreements, EPC contracts)
  • Highly meticulous, adaptable, and able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, competitive business environment.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented leader with strong integrity and the ability to influence, collaborate, and navigate complex legal challenges.
