The Role:

Our client, a leader in the digital payment platform space, is looking for a Privacy Counsel to join their team. The counsel will support a team that focuses on innovative fintech products in Asia. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with product and tech teams, business development professionals, financial institutions, and legal/compliance/AML/data privacy experts. If you're a go-getter committed to fostering growth on an international scale and possess a knack for quickly navigating privacy laws in new jurisdictions, we want to hear from you!
 

Requirements:

  • Qualified to practice law in a common law jurisdiction with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Experience with GDPR, CIPP/E, China PIPL is preferred.
  • Ability to speak in Mandarin due to Chinese regulator and stakeholder interface
  • Familiarity with the financial services industry; tech company experience (SaaS, social media, AI, app-based services) will be an advantage.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, providing pragmatic and considered advice under tight deadlines.
