Job Description:
We are seeking an HR Executive to join our client’s APJ HR team. They are a leading software company. This role will serve as the primary HR contact for Japan while also supporting HR operations across the APJ region. You will handle day-to-day HR activities, ensure compliance with local regulations, and drive employee engagement. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic global organization, offering opportunities to contribute to regional initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Japan HR Support
  • Act as the main HR contact for Japan, managing daily HR queries and employee support.
  • Ensure compliance with Japanese labor laws and manage relationships with payroll and benefits vendors.
  • Localize and implement global and regional HR programs to meet Japan market needs.

Regional HR Support (APJ)

  • Provide operational HR support across multiple APJ markets.
  • Support regional initiatives in performance management, talent development, engagement, and HR lifecycle processes.
  • Maintain HR documentation and drive process improvements to enhance consistency and efficiency.

Operational Excellence

  • Partner with global HR Centers of Excellence (Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development) to execute key programs.
  • Manage HR reporting, systems updates, and documentation.
  • Contribute to regional/global HR projects and support ad-hoc HR initiatives.

Key requirements: 

  • At least 6 years of HR Generalist experience in a multinational, preferably in the IT or technology industry.
  • Strong experience supporting HR operations in Japan is highly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Japanese employment law and HR practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across cultures.
  • Self-driven, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a matrix environment.
  • Experience supporting regional HR activities across APJ.
  • Experience supporting Go-to-Market (GTM) or commercial teams is a plus.
  • Native or business-level proficiency in Japanese is required to effectively support the market.
