Job Title: Working Capital Controller


Location: Hong Kong


Job Type: Full-time


An international law firm based in Hong Kong is seeking a highly skilled Working Capital Controller to join the team of 12. As the Working Capital Controller, you will be led by the HK CFO producing high quality advice and relevant information to decision makers and stakeholders, building relationship with Partners, ensuring compliance with regulations and deliver our services efficiently.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare billing and collection forecasts, manage end-to-end working capital cycle for partners/practice groups
  • Monitor aging balances, support bad debt provision estimation
  • Manage end-to-end matter and client financial lifecycle, suggest improvements for better service quality and efficiency
  • Contribute to annual audit process by providing samples and information on WIP and debtor balances
  • Manage rates within 3E and review client contracts to ensure correct matter setup and client finance requirements
  • Oversee Matter Inception workflow process, ensure timely review of rate agreements, and assist in client rate negotiations
  • Manage E-Billing process, coordinate invoice submissions, and resolve any issues promptly
  • Manage client on-boarding process, provide required documentation and fee earners’ details and rates for the on-boarding team
  • Manage daily paid receipts from bank, post payments, and provide reporting
  • Assist in vendor set-up for new clients, provide required documentation
  • Actively monitor client money, review balances with matter Partner, seek instructions on applying clients’ money towards bills and/or returning any excess amount to the client
  • Advise on billing and collection technical tax related matters
  • Provide detailed financial information in support of bills, prepare clients’ detailed billing schedules as requested
  • Provide training to Legal PAs for bill and time narrative completion in 3E
  • Liaise with Working Capital Controllers across the network on cross unit matters and billings


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
  • Strong technical skills including work knowledge in Excel and Word
  • Experience with Elite 3E is a plus but not required
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
