My client a leading ASX Listed Financial Services group, are seeking a high calibre individual to join their Corporate Strategy team as a M&A/Strategy Analyst. The position offers an ideal opportunity to someone currently working in either Investment Banking, Corporate Finance or Corporate Advisory, who is looking to broaden their skillset in an end-to-end group strategy role.
     
Your key responsibilities will include:   
  • Research, identify and analyse potential organic and non-organic opportunities to grow existing businesses as well as look for opportunities to add new businesses to the current structure.
  • Conduct financial analysis of various opportunities including valuations, impact on earnings, balance sheet, funding sources.
  • Assist with the preparation of discussion, board and strategic offsite papers.
  • Assist in M&A processes including coordination and compilation of the due diligence on potential investments.
  • Monitor market trends and the competitive landscape to help identify competitive threats and new business opportunities
  • Monitor existing investments, including review of business plans, financial performance, financial forecasts and periodic valuations.
 
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key attributes and experience:
  • CA / CFA qualified
  • Demonstrated financial modelling experience coupled with an understanding of equity and debt capital markets
  • 2 - 4 years experience working in the following areas:
    • Professional Services firm with experience in Corporate Finance / M&A / Transaction Services;
    • Investment Banking;
    • Mid-tier Corporate Advisory firm
    • Corporate Development / Strategy in a large corporate (open to both Financial and non Financial Services)
  • Excellent communication skills including presenting to senior management
  • Ability to work effectively in a results driven environment.
