We are looking for an Accountant with at least 5 years of commercial experience to join a global financial services firm. The ideal candidate should come with commercial accounting experience with a genuine interest in joining the financial services industry.
 
The client is a global financial services firm (reinsurance industry) with a rich history of more than 50 years and a global presence across more than 20 cities globally.
 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for preparation of journal entries, monthly and quarterly closing activities and intercompany recharges.
  • Preparation of financial statements and GST reporting for the business entity.
  • Assist in quarterly group reporting and Board meeting presentations.
  • Work closely with other internal business teams and provide support to Group and local projects.
  • Oversee 2 junior staff’s work and provide guidance as required.
  • Adhoc duties as required.
 

Successful candidate’s background:

  • Degree in Accounting or minimum Diploma in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Prior re/insurance experience is not required, you need to come with at least 5 years of accounting experience in a commercial role, some audit experience is preferred.
  • You must come with prior experience as an Accountant managing closing activities
  • Prior knowledge in SAP system.
  • Prior supervisory experience of 1-2 staff is advantageous.
  • Good communication skills as required to liaise with various stakeholders.
