The Company:
Our client is a renowned global insurer with decades of industry experience and an extensive client network worldwide. The group has expanded its regional presence significantly over the years and is currently looking to hire a senior mixed corporate lawyer for their group-level legal team covering Asia.
 
Responsibilities:

In your new role, you will
  • Provide legal advice from a group-level perspective on a range of corporate issues in Asia, including business partnerships, M&A transactions, IT, data protection, procurement and employment etc.
  • Prepare commercial contracts and agreements, and negotiate terms and conditions
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements across the Group
  • Engage with regulators and external counsels in coordinating M&A projects, and monitoring regulatory developments in the industry
  • Collaborate with other business teams on cross-border business initiatives, and enhance legal competencies through training programs

Requirements:
  • Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong or major common law jurisdictions
  • 8-12 PQE in international law firm or in-house experience with reputable insurance business
  • Well versed in corporate practice and private M&As, preferably with exposures in Southeast Asia or China
  • Strong analytical skills and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent English and Chinese (Mandarin is needed) for internal & external communications and engagement
