The Company:

My client is a multinational asset manager with extensive global investments in various asset classes and businesses. They are currently in search of a seasoned corporate lawyer preferably with some financial regulatory experience to join their regional office in Hong Kong and report directly to the CEO based out of London.
 

In your new role, you will

  • Provide strategic legal advice to executive management and business teams on corporate legal matters, ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations pertaining to new business initiatives and investment activities in Asia
  • Prepare and negotiate diverse legal documentation including standard transactional agreements, intercompany agreements involving multiple entities, and other general commercial contracts
  • Communicate with regulators in the region to address any queries and coordinate with other functions as needed. Engage and manage external counsels when appropriate
  • Work closely with the compliance team to keep abreast of evolving regulations and help design and implement policies that strengthen protocol adherence

 
Requirements:

  • Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong or other common law jurisdictions
  • At least 4-8 PQE in reputable law firms or asset management firms
  • Financial services regulatory experience in Hong Kong, Singapore, the UK, and the US a plus
  • Be willing to learn on the role and work across jurisdictions
  • Be able to work independently while also being a strong team player
