The Role:
 
Our client, a Singapore Based holding company with commodities and trading capabilities, is looking for a Group Legal Counsel to join their team. You will provide strategic legal guidance and hands-on support across corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.

This will be a regional role. You will be the go-to legal expert, advising business leaders, traders, and managing directors on complex legal matters, from drafting and negotiating commercial contracts to overseeing M&A transactions, joint ventures, and corporate governance. You will play a key role in structuring deals, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with ever-evolving regulations.
 
Beyond transactions, you will manage disputes, lead regulatory reviews, and provide insightful legal opinions on business expansion strategies. Your ability to navigate cross-border operations, particularly in North Asia, will be an asset in this role.
 
Travel on the job is to be expected.
 
Requirements
  • Qualified lawyer (LLB) admitted to the Singapore Bar
  • 5-8 years of post-qualification experience in a top-tier law firm or in-house legal team
  • Strong expertise in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), corporate law, and dispute management
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is highly preferred due to negotiations with North Asia based counterparties
