Your Role
As an Automation Engineer, you will be at the forefront of maintaining and optimizing our PLC control systems. Your expertise will help us diagnose and resolve system issues, provide essential technical support, and work closely with our Controls Development team to enhance our software solutions.

***This is and Operations and Maintenance role with customer-facing element. This is not a PLC developer position.***
 
What You’ll Do
  • Technical Support: Be a key player in the Customer Support team, providing expert assistance for PLC control software.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and fix system errors swiftly to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside the Controls Development team to innovate and customize existing systems.
  • Documentation: Analyze design specifications and update functional design documents to reflect current configurations.
  • Testing & Commissioning: Conduct in-house testing, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and provide remote support as well as on-site commissioning.
  • Emergency Response: Be available for on-call support during emergencies and ready for short-term international assignments.

Requirements
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in the automation industry with a focus on control systems; experience with airport or logistics PLC control systems
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Siemens S7 Classic programming, Siemens TIA Portal, Distributed Safety, and HMI development. Basic knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs is beneficial; familiarity with SCL programming is a bonus.
  • Communication Protocols: Strong understanding of high-level communication protocols along with troubleshooting capabilities
  • Additional Knowledge (Bonus): Familiarity with Profibus, Profinet, AS-I bus systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and cybersecurity principles related to industrial control systems.

Preferred Attributes
  • Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving skills focused on complex system errors.
  • Excellent communication abilities to convey technical issues clearly to diverse audiences
  • Experience with SCADA systems and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement methodologies will be a bonus
