Our Client is a Japanese corporate bank, seeking a Legal & Compliance AVP for its Compliance team, to assist in providing legal advisory and support for the Branch. You will ensure legal documents and contracts are valid and countercheck CDD documents. You will also support reviewing of Compliance Policies and procedures when required.
 

You will have:

  • At least 3 years of Compliance experience in a Bank or Non-Bank FI.
  • A Diploma in Law and 3 or more years of experience as a paralegal in-house or in a law firm, with Legal &/or Compliance work, will be highly advantageous
  • Bank and NBFI Compliance Officers are welcome to apply.
  • A working AML/CFT knowledge will be an added advantage.
  • A reasonable understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and banking industry standards.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze precedents for decision-making.
  • Ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts effectively. Comfortable with identifying and evaluating legal and compliance risks within the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to team success.
