Our client a Leading NSW Government Department are currently seeking a Finance Systems Business Analyst on an initial 6-9 month contract to support the implementation of specialised Finance business improvement projects to scope, budget, and time. This includes ensuring a consistent methodology across the agencies.

Key accountabilities

  • Engage with business across the division to modify/develop business systems, processes and templates which reflect business requirements, effectively harness the IT capability and enable continual improvement.
  • Undertake reviews of divisional needs and business processes to develop insights and advice to the executive for business improvement and adaptation across the division.
  • Develop and produce a wide range of complex internal/external reports, documents, briefs and responses to ad hoc communication requests to provide information, analysis and insights into business and process improvement.
  • Work closely with the management team to review and revise business in response to organisational and technological changes.
  • Work closely with the technology teams and business across the cluster to develop, manage, and implement business and process improvements and information system developments, including preparing business requirement documents and any procurement requirements.
Relevant Experience
  • Extensive experience in financial business analysis in a large infrastructure environment, preferably in government
  • Has proven experience in monitoring business process performance with a strong understanding of best practices and key business drivers.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Finance Business Analyst driving business process changes and in managing continuous improvement initiatives based on OneStream, SAP, IBM or CCH Tagetik Statutory Reporting & Consolidations software.
  • Thorough knowledge of current contemporary financial and reporting policies, practices, procedures and technology systems.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or in a related discipline and eligible for, or progressing towards, membership of a recognised professional accounting body
