About the Team
Join a pivotal unit dedicated to protecting the organization and clients by addressing threats and incidents that span multiple domains. The team is committed to coordinating responses and recovery efforts for operational disruptions, ensuring that we mitigate risks effectively and maintain business continuity. The team focus on incidents that could lead to significant business impact, including customer and employee implications, financial recovery costs, and reputational risks.
 
Role Summary:
As a Consultant in Fusion Response, you will report to the Global Director, Incident Response, Fusion Centre . Your primary responsibility will be to lead incident response and recovery efforts for less complex operational disruptions while supporting senior team members during more severe incidents. You will engage with leaders across the organization, employing a hands-on approach to problem-solving, planning, and managing change.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Incident Response: Provide coverage for Fusion Response during North American overnight hours (9 PM - 4 AM ET), performing incident analysis and triage to assess urgency and impact.
  • Coordination of Efforts: Lead response and recovery orchestration for less complex incidents, ensuring efficient coordination among various teams.
  • Support Complex Incidents: Assist senior team members during high-severity incidents, contributing to effective resolution strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Help enhance the incident management capability by refining interaction models, playbook designs, and operational procedures.
  • Task Management: Ensure that assigned tasks are tracked and completed within deadlines while keeping leadership informed of progress.
  • Preparedness Exercises: Participate in drills to test the team's understanding of roles and procedures, building muscle memory for effective incident response.
  • Performance Objectives: Achieve measurable performance goals within timelines while collaborating with your leader on professional development.

Compliance Obligations
Adhere to all relevant policies, standards, guidelines, and controls as part of your role.
 
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 5 years in information/cybersecurity, fraud prevention, or operational risk management; experience in environments of “follow-the-sun” models / global banking or financial institutions will be a bonus.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in Emergency Management, IT Incident Management (ITIL), Business Continuity (CBCP), or Risk Management (CRISC) are advantageous.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with financial services regulatory landscapes across Canada, the USA, UK/Ireland, Europe, and Asia-Pacific is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized with a task-oriented mindset; able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Developing skills to creatively address complex challenges with innovative solutions.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze situations critically to inform decision-making processes.
