We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Analyst to join a top ASX listed business delivering consistent double digit growth and offering excellent career progression. This role supports strategic and growth initiatives across a variety business units by analysing and interpreting data, translating this into actionable insights and recommendations to the business.

Key attributes of a successful candidate will be an inquisitive mindset and a level of comfort with ambiguity, unfamiliar tasks, and shifting priorities.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with a wide range of internal stakeholders and provide insights to assist with decision making

  • Financial modelling including building scenario models, explaining variances and trends

  • Use data to assess business investment and strategic opportunities and create narratives and stories for key stakeholders.

  • Understand, interpret, and proactively adapt the plan for market fluctuation and competition. Provide competitor analysis including interpretation of company reports, and engage in continuous improvement of the market and customer segmentation process

  • Support pricing analytics by applying knowledge of financial tools and metrics used within the business such as price elasticity, discount cash flows, correlation and regression analysis

  • Provide reporting and analytical support to the Customer and Markets team including lead generation and campaign analytics

  • Data management: overseeing data sourcing from internal and external sources, ensuring quality control and extracting information using business intelligence tools including Tableau and Power BI

Key skills required

  • 2-5 years’ experience in an accounting firm or background in a Commercial/Financial Analyst/FP&A role

  • Bachelor’s Degree in commerce or equivalent, studying or newly qualified CA/CPA preferred

  • Strong analytical ability to proactively identify and explain variances, trends, issues and opportunities and translate these into insightful & compelling commercial stories and recommendations

  • Advanced Excel

  • Experience using BI Tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) and SQL highly regard
