Role of the Chief Information Officer

The CIO provides executive leadership to my client with authority over alignment of the IT strategy to business needs of their business. You will oversee the implementation of IT projects and resource management to ensure the availability of IT applications and integrity of business operations on-site.
The role demands a significant ability to align the overall IT strategy to business strategy, which involves management of all IT services for all sites within the organisation, site-specific programs for compliance with architecture, service delivery performance and cost-effectiveness for site adoption for overall financial effectiveness.
As this is a key leadership role, the CIO is expected to be an excellent people developer to lead and manage all levels of IT professionals, with varying management responsibility for all levels of customer engagement.
CIO will play an integral role in the engagement of technical teams across the business.
You will be required to work closely with senior management team, various boards and steering committees, and business function and technical managers, and to steer all IT projects towards achieving the intended business results. To deliver satisfactory outcome to users and the business as a strategic and integral partner for healthcare systems delivery.


Your Responsibilities
  • Lead in the acquisition and implementation of projects which include the management and deployment of IT resources, IT planning and provision of IT services with a focus on Cybersecurity to meet performance standards and clinical competencies in the organization.
  • Lead and drive program/project system implementations and IT operational improvement by translating business objectives into actionable IT plans, while ensuring system integrity and service delivery are on schedule.
  • Manage the application portfolio including reviewing the overall life-cycle of applications and its supporting system software or infrastructure.
  • Ensure appropriate policies and processes, to govern and manage IT within the organisation, are established and implemented.
  • Strategically lead and manage the service level agreements, project priorities and service performance indicators for on-site IT delivery.
  • Lead the team successfully and its suppliers in operating the core infrastructure and related services to ensure maximal utility in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
  • Oversee IT budget expenditure, transfer pricing and procurement of systems and applications. Ensure optimum resource allocation, utilisation and financial effectiveness for the conduct of the IT activities.
  • Manage manpower planning, retention and development of IT staff and resourcing to support the business, to ensure every service levels are met.
  • Stay engaged and keep abreast of needs and issues at the operational level through frequent interactions at all levels – to ensure broad IT strategies are executed well across the organisation, as well as to oversee the performance of IT service suppliers
  • The CIO, in the discharge of his or her duties, shall act impartially in accordance with his/her roles and responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree (IT related field is preferred)
  • A strong leader and excellent communicator who is driven and with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders including senior management at Board-levels, C-levels, IT teams, project teams, and vendors.
  • 20 years of relevant IT working experience in a large and complex environment, preferably with experience and a broad understanding of intermediate and long term care healthcare businesses.
