Our client is a unicorn fintech firm headquartered in China and a leading provider of Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and risk intelligence solutions. Backed by strong institutional investors and with operations expanding rapidly across Asia, our technology enables financial institutions to streamline compliance, mitigate risk, and accelerate customer onboarding. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) to join their regional sales team. This is a key individual contributor role focused on driving new business opportunities across Singapore and the ASEAN region, with a strong emphasis on banking and financial services clients. The ideal candidate is a true sales hunter, with a track record of exceeding targets, strong knowledge of the KYC/AML space, and the ability to build relationships at C-level within banks. Fluency in Mandarin is essential due to close collaboration with internal stakeholders across China and the region.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to acquire new banking clients across Singapore and ASEAN.
  • Drive the full sales cycle: prospecting, qualifying, pitching, negotiating, and closing.
  • Understand client needs and position their solutions
  • Work closely with marketing, pre-sales, product, and compliance teams to tailor solutions.
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline and accurately forecast revenue.
  • Provide market feedback to support product innovation and competitive positioning.
 
Requirements:
  • More than 6 years of experience in business development or enterprise sales, ideally in KYC, AML, regtech, or financial software.
  • Proven success in selling to banking and financial services clients in the ASEAN region.
  • Strong hunter mentality – thrives in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English (both spoken and written) due to close collaboration with internal stakeholders across China and the region.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional and regional teams.
  • Willingness to travel across ASEAN as needed.
