As part of a major multi-million dollar program to upgrade and implement new operationally critical and corporate applications, we're looking to engage a Domain Architect to take up a key role and help provide strategic and thought leadership on the application landscape of a high profile organisation in Sydney CBD.

The role partners with an established Enterprise and Strategy Architecture team, where you will work between the business and domain stakeholders to drive innovation and identify opportunities for investment in new IT systems and processes to align with the overarching IT Strategy and business objectives.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Provide input to the strategic direction to assist in the development of the domain architecture and maximise the return on technology investment.
  • Provide high-level strategic advice, co-develop financial and business case models to assess technologies and assist in the prioritisation of future investment in IT systems and processes to support business objectives and the business eco-system.
  • Contributes to and assists in the preparation and maintenance of architecture elements, including principles, guidelines, reference models, standards, patterns and templates
  • Provides application portfolio guidance and decision making to IT projects and initiatives during opportunity and pre-project phases
  • Undertake high-level research, horizon scanning and analysis to identify future IT trends, and assess and explain the value of existing investments and emerging technologies and their applicability to support business objectives for the domain
What we're looking for:
  • Demonstrable experience with Strategic Portfolio Management, maintaining a Strategic Application Portfolio and authoring operational forward work plans.
  • Demonstrable experience working with multiple strategic partners to deliver consistent IT services
  • Demonstrable experience supporting and influencing key architecture decisions in solution design with robust, reusable, sustainable, and modern Application Architectures.
  • Demonstrable experience creating reusable application architectures, principles, and patterns
  • Demonstrable and recent certification in TOGAF, Cloud Architecture: AWS (Professional) / Azure (Expert)  (or equivalent experience)
  • Demonstrable experience in the use of Technology Architecture modelling tools (iServer365 preferred)
  • Experience performing SWOT analysis on a Strategic Application
  • Ideally you will have had exposure to Asset Heavy environments, such as Rail, Engineering, Construction, Asset Management and Maintenance.
