Our client is investing heavily in the ramp up of Australia's largest digital banking transformation and as such is significantly beefing up their team of Product Owners, Senior Product Owners, and Lead Product Owners.  Set up in a mature, SAFe Agile Release Train delivery framework, several Tribes and Squads need experience Product Owners to assume leadership roles.  With a laser-focus on customer experience, the Product Owner roles at all levels involve:
 
  • Being responsible for prioritising a backlog of epics, features and user stories received by business stakeholders, sprint planning with the team and ensuring the team understand the goals of the sprint.
  • Working with stakeholders and the delivery team to define vision and scope of initiatives to ensure they address the identified problem. Roles will seek to deepen knowledge of customer and user needs, motivations, and behaviour to influence designs that contribute to a rewarding customer experience and deliver projected benefits.
  • Working closely with other Digital Product Owners to ensure the shared Experience (digital) vision is maintained, channel performance and satisfaction is continually monitored, and that customer experience is kept at the forefront of all decisions. Be the conduit between business stakeholders and the scrum team in defining processes and requirements and ensuring the design is aligned with business case.
  • Apply guiding principles within the agile delivery framework to shape and drive positive customer outcomes
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and effectively communicate updates to business stakeholders
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement with value delivered. Research and monitor competitor activities and market trends to ensure understanding of the evolving customer needs
 
The current digital delivery team is proud of their mature SAFe delivery framework and their continuous delivery of market leading digital products.  They are protective of their positive, can-do culture and their commitment to diversity.  With such a high volume of resource needs, the mandatory requirement of these roles is simply: prior experience working as a Product Owner with an ability to demonstrate strong, successful delivery leadership of customer-focussed digital projects or transformations.  There are several Release Trains, Tribes and Squads recruiting so exactly where you will fit will depend on what you are looking for and whether there is a good match with any number of hiring managers.
