This is an opportunity to join one of the most successful proprietary trading firms and market makers across the globe. The APAC team is headquartered in Sydney and the business has ambitious growth plans across APAC and globally. They want to trade more financial instruments in more markets but want to do this in the safest way possible by building upon the existing compliance and risk team.

The legal team support the business across APAC. In this role you will work closely with the Head of Legal and will be arranging board meetings and taking minutes. You will also be in charge of onboarding - helping improve the process with institutional brokers and trading counterparts around the region.

This role would suit someone who comes from a KYC / Counterpart onboarding background who also has a law degree / training. You don't need a financial markets background, this can be learned on the job.

Role responsibilities
  • Arrange and attend board meetings, prepare/review minutes, prepare/review filings, verify control framework and maintain internal databases in relation to corporate entities in Australia and APAC
  • Liaise with other offices, directors and external company secretarial service providers in APAC.
  • Arrange induction and ongoing training for directors and updating the APAC directors’ manual
  • Establishing a disciplined and robust counter party onboarding process for our APAC institutional brokers and trading counter parties;
  • Building and maintain collaborative working relationships with external counterparts;
  • Attending to client reviews, KYC, due diligence and other adhoc requests;
  • Support various new business initiatives, completing and maintaining all onboarding documentation and disseminating as required;
  • Assist with maintaining and updating counter party database
  • Protect the confidentiality of all materials in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
Role Requirements
  • 1-5 years assistant company secretarial experience
  • Previous experience with documentation and / or counter party management
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Interest in financial markets and or trading
  • Eagerness to learn and a questioning disposition
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Law degree well regarded but not essential
