As a VP, Financial Controller, you will be part of the Finance Department, Statutory and Governance team responsible for the financial management of the business.
 
The client is a global investment management firm with a rich history of more than 30 years and an AUM of more than USD 500 billion.

 
Key responsibilities include:
 
  • Acting as a Finance business partner and providing controllership guidance to the business stakeholders.
  • Ensuring financial reporting practices are adhered to IFRS, local accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Be the expert for technical accounting matters – prepare standalone and consolidated financial statements, oversee, and analyse financial and operational performance indicators.
  • Ensure governance control is maintained and to work on projects periodically to meet new accounting and business requirements.
  • Any other adhoc duties.
 
 
Successful candidate’s background:

  • Degree in Accounting with professional certifications in CA/CPA.
  • At least 12 years of relevant finance controllership experience with at least 3 years of Big 4 audit experience.
  • Strong hands-on accounting experience is required – consolidation, financial reporting for legal entities, local tax regulations, external audit management, preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements etc.
  • Strong knowledge in IFRS reporting requirements.
  • Financial services industry experience is preferred but open to commercial industries too.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills as required to work closely with the senior management/C-suite business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
