The Company:

Our client is a renowned global investment management and financial services firm with decades of industry experience and an extensive client network across Asia. Over the years, the Group has significantly expanded its regional presence and they are now seeking a Senior Corporate Lawyer to join their group-level regional legal team. This individual will report directly to the Head of Legal and Compliance.
 

In your new role, you will:
 
  • Provide comprehensive legal advice from a group-level perspective on a wide range of issues including business partnerships, IT/IP, employment, corporate governance, and M&A transactions
  • Manage commercial contracts and agreements with internal/external stakeholders including negotiations, drafting documentation, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements across the Group
  • Engage with regulators and external counsels in coordinating M&A projects, and monitoring legal/regulatory developments in the industry
  • Collaborate with other business teams on cross-border business initiatives, and enhance legal competencies through training programs

 
Requirements:

  • Qualified lawyer in common law jurisdiction with 8-12 years PQE in international law firm and/or in-house experience with regulated financial institution
  • Solid experience in corporate and commercial practice, preferably with exposures in the Greater China market or other Asian regions
  • Strong analytical skills and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin is required), for internal & external communications and engagement
