A major success story in the Australian Financial Services sector, my client, due to continued growth across all areas of the business are seeking a high calibre Management Accountant to join the BU finance team and assist in the delivery of ongoing management reporting, insights and analysis for the Australian business.

Your key responsibilities will include:   
 
Working closely with the Senior Finance Manager you will be responsible for helping the team meet all management reporting requirements (expenses analysis reporting, FTE reports etc) for the CFO and Executives as well as provide insightful analysis to help drive performance improvement and productivity opportunities.  You will maintain a strong financial control and process for expenses management and strong analytical skills will enable you to analyse and verify actual performance against plan and forecasts whilst also ensuring accuracy of investigations for all variances. Outside of the core deliverables in this role you will also assist in developing financial models and business cases for various projects within the business.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate a number of the following attributes:
  • CA/CPA/CIMA qualified or in the final stages of completing professional qualifications;
  • 3+ years experience - commercial minded Financial Accountant, Management Accountant or Financial Analyst/Finance Partner with Financial Services industry experience (preferred);
  • Suited to individuals currently working in External Audit (Big 4 or 2nd tier CA firm) keen to make their first move into a commercial accounting role;
  • Highly developed analytical skills with intermediate/advanced excel skills viewed favourably;
