Summary:

The Head of Australia Operations is accountable for leading and managing the day-to-day operations for Australia while also assisting in the growth of the business. The position will drive country activity to successful achievement of project operations and procure, train and drive staff to reach KPIs for sales and revenue.

 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate the national business strategy in harmony with the global business approach, emphasizing the pursuit of profitable growth through business development.
  • Demonstrate the company's strategic importance to local clients and prospects by presenting tailored solutions from a comprehensive range of GxP services.
  • Establish a robust network of influence within client organizations in the country, including C-levels, senior executives (e.g. Board Members, etc.) to enhance client retention and unearth fresh business prospects. Assume the role of the primary client relationship manager for Australian accounts, overseeing strategic growth planning and relationship management.
  • Foster strong relationships with influential figures such as key opinion leaders (KOLs), site vendors, and partners in Australia.
  • Strengthen the country's capabilities by spearheading efforts to identify and recruit experienced candidates for key functions.
  • Ensure that the Company’s goals and objectives for Australia are not just achieved but surpassed by furnishing the necessary leadership and oversight to promote organizational growth, meet revenue and profitability targets, and attain other key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Take the lead in developing and executing client strategies and account plans that drive margin growth, with a focus on cultivating repeat business.
  • Review the operational strategy and the 5-year plan to ensure they are in sync with the growth strategy and the larger business plan.
  • Assume the role of developing and executing the communication and marketing plans for the country, taking full responsibility for this crucial aspect.
  • Review and analyze financial statements and data, operating reports, budget variance reports, and other appropriate information to assess progress to goals. Provide guidance to direct reports and support team members on support needs for the program.
  • Responsible for leading all activities and teams for Australia.
  • Leads the business to achieve operational performance goals and strategic growth targets.
  • Support Global and Local Marketing activities to support growth in Australia.
  • Manage the Country Sales team to ensure that the new development and cross-selling development targets are met through solutions selling and development of a robust pipeline.
  • Hire and develop talent in collaboration with HR, country and business unit leadership.
  • Act as Project Manager as determined by business need.
 

Requirements:

  • Degree holder with over a decade of experience in business unit, country, or regional operations management, and demonstrated multi-unit leadership or strategic leadership experience.
  • Strong background and exposure in CRO/pharma/biotech industry, and familiar with contract research services industry.
  • Proven ability to establish or enhance operational processes, to identify issues, trends, and opportunities and to develop needed training to effectively support and upskill talent.
  • Top-notch leader who has demonstrated positive business results by driving the highest level of operational quality along with significant revenue within a large business.
  • Adept ability in using a multi-faceted approach to creating meaningful relationships that lead to growth for company. Listening to client needs, understanding their challenges and pain points, and addressing those challenges with thoughtful solutions is integral in this role.
  • Have the presence and gravitas to present confidently with C-suite clients and in industry forums. This individual is accountable for the profitable achievement of organization goals and aligning objectives to the country business strategy.
  • Proven track record of developing talent of direct reports with a focus of up-leveling skillsets and creating a culture of development and empowerment.
