The Role:
 
Our client is a Singapore-Headquartered Commodity Trading Firm. They are looking to hire an experienced energy/O&G trading lawyer legal professional as General Counsel. As the pioneer legal hire, the successful candidate will work closely with the Founder and Traders on all legal matters.


Requirements:

  • Degree in law (LLB) from a Singapore or reputable overseas university; called to the Singapore bar or Common Law.
  • Minimum of 8 -12 years post-qualification experience in a law firm or as a legal counsel with industry-relevant experience (in an oil, energy, and/or commodities company).
  • Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively with other departments such as operations, traders, trade finance, and shipping.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively and independently.
