There has been a huge push for sustainability in recent years and many banks are committing plenty of resources to grow this space.


Responsibilities would include:

  • Work to meet the requirements of corporate clients on various ESG matters, including identification of ESG risks and opportunities, improvement of ESG disclosures and enhancement of their ESG profile to investors for better market access
  • Advise clients on ESG ratings and impacts, support the bank’s engagement with executive management of corporate clients across Asia to better understand their sustainability needs
  • Communicate, identify, compare and explain the underlying framework and criteria of the various ESG rating methodologies
  • Key member of the bank’s regional Sustainable Finance Team, supporting the development of their ESG product and service offering to serve clients’ needs eg. sustainable financing framework design and drafting, providing advice in terms of KPI and SPT selection, market and peer benchmarking, recommendation on Second Party Opinion providers
  • Keep in the loop of emerging trends, sustainable finance market developments aligned with best standards to properly capture opportunities and address risks
  • Engage with various stakeholders, such as relationship bankers and other product bankers, to structure sustainable banking products
  • Represent and drive the bank’s sustainable finance capabilities/ strategy and being a trusted advisor for their client stakeholders


Profile of ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience, some part of this in ESG/ sustainable finance, and have worked on a considerable amount of sustainable finance transactions or projects previously
  • Strong passion, interest, understanding & knowledge of the sustainable business/ field, change and impact
  • Good written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Thought leader in the sustainability field
  • Strong personal leadership and work ethic with curiosity to learn and develop.
  • Positive, resourceful and a strong team player. Self-motivated. Ability to build relationships across the organization of varying functions and levels
