Our client is a mid sized commodity trading firm based in the heart of Singapore’s CBD, and are currently looking for a Trade Finance Executive due to growth!  We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates good commercial acumen, and has a strong aptitude for numbers.
 

Some responsibilities include:

  • Perform daily cash settlements and receipts, manage cash, maintain cash books, and conduct weekly reconciliations with bank statements and systems.
  • Handle Letter of Credit (L/C) transactions in accordance with business needs.
  • Review the format of L/Cs, ensure prompt issuance, and offer necessary assistance as required.
  • Evaluate and negotiate pertinent banking documents. Coordinate all L/C-related payments, whether through TR loan applications, L/C discounting, or self-funding.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to maintain regular updates on cargo movement and shipment schedules, closely tracking timely L/C issuance and receipt.
  • Provide timely reports and updates on business activities, encompassing L/C movements, receipts, payments, and expenses.
  • Establish and manage bank accounts, including completing KYC clearance processes.
  • Process payments, confirm cash receipts, and monitor the cash balance in the company's bank accounts.
  • Assist in the execution of new ad-hoc projects or the generation of new reports as assigned.
 

Education required:

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Exhibits high level of attention to detail, organizational proficiency
  • Holds a Diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalnet in fields such as Accounts, Finance, Economics, or related areas
  • Brings 2-5 years of experience in trade finance and treasury within a commodity trading firm or shipping industry or related.
