My client is a leading ASX listed Consumer bank.  Due to an internal move, they are looking to appoint a high performing Senior Financial Accountant to take ownership of the financial control and statutory reporting obligations, for a number of key entities within the group. 

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Ensuring accurate completion of all reporting requirements for month end and other key reporting periods
  • Preparation of financial statements and Group reporting packs
  • Ensure the integrity of the data in the general ledger
  • Preparation of results pack for presentation to the Board
  • Act as the subject matter for all accounting and reporting requirements under AASB and IFRS associated with new business transactions
  • Drive process and system change on an ad-hoc basis
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
  • CA / CPA qualified with a minimum of 5 years experience gained in the financial services sector ideally with direct exposure to the banking sector (either through direct financial accounting experience or through your portfolio of banking audit clients)
  • Proven technical accounting skills - sound knowledge of IFRS accounting standards (IFRS 9 highly regarded)
  • Big 4 CA 1st mover with specific audit exposure to the Financial Services / Banking industry.
  • Working knowledge of financial products (including derivatives and fixed income products)
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to work effectively in a results driven environment coupled with a flair for identifying weaknesses and driving process change and automation
