Our client is an exciting listed financial services group going through a major growth phase. They are a highly dynamic organsation and are in the process of launching a number of new businesses and products. As part of this growth trajectory they have large amount of finance systems projects and finance transformation planned to build a strong finance infrastructure to accommodate future growth. These projects include new GL implementation, reporting tool implementation, integration of finance systems with new business systems being implemented, AP and payroll upgrades etc.

As such they are looking for a financial system, project and transformation specialist who can join and deliver these projects. The role is very broad and will require you to wear multiple hats across project management, business analysis and financial systems implementation so would suit someone who has worked across all of these areas.  Specific deliverables will include:

  • Drive finance team operational efficiency projects (systems and process) including scoping, planning, resourcing, implementation, documentation and handover to BAU teams for projects.
  • Priortisation of team process improvement pipeline including prioritisation of issues and improvement ideas.
  • Ownership for implementation of specific finance system projects.
  • Process change planning and management, including identifying opportunities for finance process improvements, automation opportunities and improvements in the financial control environment.
  • Drive implementation of changes.
  • Assist in knowledge capture and transferring knowledge to finance team for process amendments.
  • Assist in preparation and maintenance of documentation for finance processes and procedures.
  • Management of IT service provider issues and changes prioritisation and ongoing support services.
  • Finance process mapping including identifying key finance controls to ensure processes are in line with financial control framework.
  • Training finance team on finance systems and process.
  • Finance system administration and maintenance including systems interfaces.
  • Provide finance systems and process support to finance teams during ASX financial reporting period end.
  • Other adhoc finance team support as required.

This is initially a 12 month fixed term contract but in all likelihood it will likely roll on for at least a further 12 months and could potentially become a permanent position if the growth continues

Required skills and experience:
  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of dedicated financial systems, project or transformation experience
  • Strong hands on project management, business analysis and financial systems implementation experience
  • Experience working within a complex financial services business would be desirable, ideally delivering small - medium sized projects and implementations
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 implemtnation or upgrade experience would be highly regarded
