We are looking for QA Engineer to join an established Digital Team within an Insurance company who can take ownership of the teams Automation Testing. 

The purpose and unique contribution of your role is to analyse proposed solutions, implement solutions, solve complex problems and to provide test leadership to assure the quality of the solutions being built. To perform this role, you will work closely with Project Managers, Iteration Managers, Analysts and Developers, as well as other members of the platform and project teams, such as Architects, Environment Management, Release Management and key business stakeholders

Responsibilities:
  • Operationalise testing strategies to deliver the desired test outcomes for the team, and document them to the appropriate level of detail
  • Responsible for developing ways of working and test engagement practices in collaboration with members of your own team as well as with various stakeholder groups, and document these.
  • Provide direction and supervision for larger pieces of work (projects) or multiple pieces of work in terms of testing.
  • Participate in inception and estimation sessions to develop cost and effort estimates on the proposed solution and testing effort including implementation and costs of operation, or support team estimate processes.
  • Create new automated tests for test data creation, in-sprint automated testing of new functionality, automated shakeout testing of the continuous integration pipeline, and robust automated regression testing
  • Continue to expand and create the platform test automation framework and test assets
  • Contribute to the quality and completeness of platform’s test assets and other artefacts
  • Provide mentoring to other test analysts as required, under the direction of the manager.

Experience Required
  • Experience in planning, coordinating and reporting on test efforts for projects.
  • Experience in context-based and risk-based testing of complex business applications
  • Expertise in the use of a BDD (Behaviour Driven Development) framework based on Cucumber
  • Experience in using automation tools such Selenium/Cypress for UI interfaces.
  • Programming expertise in JavaScript (desirable)
  • Documenting process flows
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members and foster an engaged team environment.
  • Experience in use of databases (preferred)
The role is hybrid role with a mixture of WFH and in the office based in the Sydney CBD (1-2 days a week). Excellent benefits are included such as increased Superannuation.
