We are working with an exciting new digital venture that is small but massively growing with a backing of a global financial institution on a newly created position for a Head of Lending.

The Head of Lending will:
  • Report to the Chief Product Officer and will lead multidisciplinary teams to design, develop and deliver one of their key revenue generating products and services.
  • Coverage will be across both Unsecured and Secured Lending products
Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and drive personal loans, mortgage, pay later (instalments), debt consolidation to deliver sustainable growth in revenue, balance and core banking customers
  • Ensure relevant control measures are in place to minimize the risk exposure of the Bank as well as meeting all the internal standard, compliance, policies & regulation
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team from project inception to scoping, design, concept testing and delivery
  • Act as the senior product owner across the product and services, to define and manage the product backlog, prioritising feature releases in line with the broader roadmap
  • Direct and lead team members to formulate product/service directions to maintain competitiveness/market leading position, working closely with the Service Design and Customer Research Teams
  • Define a compelling service proposition through innovative product management/development amid intensifying competition from traditional card issuers and emerging third-party payment providers
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering team and external vendors to ensure timely delivery of quality product and service proposition to customers
  • Drive vendors to deliver premium services to support the attainment of our digital payment goals • Be the voice of the customer in the definition of your product/service, and collaborate with other product owners to converge on a broader coherent proposition
  • Monthly and annual lending total interest & fee income, revenue budgets, & Total product P&L including commitment to partners
  • Provide insights into product, technology and market trends, pre-empting imminent disruptions and identifying opportunities for acceleration
  • Work with UX and Service Design to gain an understanding of user personas, pain points and journeys
  • Gather and manage product feedback through surveys, concept testing, analytics tools, and A/B testing
  • Develop and monitor budgets for project delivery
  • Develop the economic model, business plan and operating model for new products and services
  • Define the commercial launch and go-to-market strategy

Our Ideal Candidate:
  • 15 year’s progressive experience in Product Management in Financial Institutions, leading a business unit responsible for achieving financial sales and service performance objectives through a customer needs based sales approach
  • 5+ years of Product Ownership experience in personal loans, mortgage, pay later (instalments), debt consolidation, etc.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (finance, computer science, electrical engineering, etc)
  • An MBA or other advanced degree (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of mobile and web technologies
  • A strong customer focus and a natural inclination to let empirical research define and inform product/service priorities
  • Hands on experience with agile development methodologies
  • An ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience leading cross-functional teams
  • The ability to manage time and schedules to meet aggressive deadlines and influence through persuasive written and verbal communication
