We are looking for a Front End Engineer to join a growing team for an organisation based within the banking and financial services domain. The role will be for an initial 6 months with the view to extend and will be focused on a range of project work that has already commenced.
The role can be performed remotely however you must live within the Greater Sydney region.

About the Role
Working within a small and passionate team, the UI engineer role will report to the technical lead and be responsible for enhancing (development/unit testing/peer code reviews) the current UI Framework (react JS and Node JS stack), based upon priority set by the Product Owner.
A strong passion for all things in application development and a commitment to owning issues is key to succeeding in this role, as well as a pragmatic approach to solving problems.

Skills Required:
  • Strong foundation in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
  • Experience with a modern client-side single page app framework (React, Angular, Vue,..)
  • Good working knowledge of GIT version control and JavaScript package managers (npm, yarn)
  • Has experience and understanding of the functional programming paradigm (pure functions, etc)
  • At least 3 years’ experience in at least one of the modern client side single page app frameworks
  • Understands how to correctly use NPM dependencies (how peer deps vs deps work for example)
  • Experience with Jest/Jasmine unit testing frameworks and testing patterns in React (knows how to write efficient tests for reducers, sagas, react components, connected react components)
Highly regarded:
  • Production experience with React and Redux stack (incl. Redux Saga)
  • Experience writing redux middleware
