Our client is a growing insurance and wealth management organisation with a great brand. They have a permanent opportunity for a finance manager or very experienced senior accountant to join their high performing finance function. 

Reporting to the Head of Finance this will be a broad role focusing on leading a team of twoqualified accountants.

Specific deliverables will include:
  • Preparation of the annual planning process and supporting the preparation and delivery of both the strategic dialogue and planning dialogue.
  • Preparation and distribution of monthly management accounts, KPI reporting and analysis.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly and annual APRA returns and year end ASIC financial statements. Assist in the co-ordination of external and internal audits.
  • Support the capital modelling process including provision of inputs, interpretation and reporting, and also the insurance liability reserving, by actuarial and risk functions.
  • Leading one accountant in delivering the month end close accounting, including partnering with all business process owners, across all functions, and coordination with international stakeholders
  • Apply accounting policies, operate and maintain key financial controls.
  • Assist with implementation of changes and new systems and processes in response to new products, reporting requirements and accounting standards changes.

Required skills and experience: 
  • Chartered Accountant or CPA qualified
  • Minimum 5 years’ post qualified experience in financial and/or management accounting ideally within the insurance or wealth management industry 
  • Strong process improvement and financial systems experience
  • Previous team leadership/mentoring experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to work in and respond to a fast paced and changing environment
