Job purpose: To carry out and take responsibility for the tasks and activities relating to the operation of applications in production in GS-IT with the following goals • Ensure the Service Level Agreements (SLA) are adhered to • Optimise operation in production • Implement changes in accordance with requirements The position "Application Specialist “ comprises the following roles: • IT Monitoring • IT Operations The scope of tasks assigned to the person holding this job is defined via one or more of these roles and is specified in more detail in the following section. Key activities: TASK LIST FOR THE ROLE OF IT Monitoring • Monitoring of the central and decentralised mainframe/network/client server systems, applications, online systems and batch production by following specifications • Detection, analysis, resolution, and documentation of all IT faults according in accordance with standards • Use of standard tools for incident, problem, request and change management • Implementation of standardised change requests • Escalation of faults as specified to the respective on-call service or alternatively to the escalation manager • Fault response outside the service line's acceptance times TASK LIST FOR THE ROLE OF IT Operations • Controlling and monitoring the central and decentralised mainframe/network/client server systems, applications, online systems and batch production • Analysing, resolving and documenting IT faults • Implementation of changes in the production process as per change requests • Assurance of uninterrupted availability of the systems and applications • Manual intervention in automatic processes in conjunction with the product managers or on request • Escalation of faults as per guidelines to the respective on-call service or alternatively to the escalation manager • Identification of operating optimisation potential as well as development and implementation of respective concepts for their realisation Formal education: • Education: relevant professional training / qualifications Specialist knowledge (work experience, further qualification): Qualifications/Skills (1) Essential Skills Professional Skills (technical, methodology and business): (2) Practical knowledge Application Infrastructure (2) Practical knowledge Databases (2) Practical knowledge Operations Architecture (3) Proficient in Service-management Processes (2) Practical knowledge IT Security (2) Has Banking Know-how Personal Skills: (3) Strong Stress Resistance (3) Good Cooperation (3) Strong Service Orientation (3) Good Interpersonal Contact (2) Analytical Thinking (2) Systematic Approach (2) Qualification Criteria and experience levels · Knows subject and how to apply this knowledge quite well. Able to perform less complex tasks Detailed Requirements for each career level: Unix Skills: • Have some basic Unix commands to check the status of the servers. (ping, df -k etc) • Ability to differentiate the Unix alerts (server not pingable, full filesystem issue, oracle process not running, batch job failure) • Some basic knowledge of Unix infrastructure and how it works. Windows: • Basic Windows commands to check the status of the servers. (eg. Ping, ipconfig, and so on…) • Have some idea of how Windows infrastructure works. (eg. Active Directory, Domain Controller and so on…) • Able to differentiate types of Windows error alerts, how to check, and the possible resolutions. (Services down, Server not pingable, CPU high usage and so on…) • And the most basic of all, comfortable with using Windows OS on our workstation
