The Role
My client is a global Commodity giant and we are looking for a Market Risk Manager in Singapore. The ideal candidate with come with experience in Freight and Downstream, and you will be overseeing all SG Market Risk matters for the business. Reporting up to the Global Head, you will also be part of an international team.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and analyze market risks related to freight, refined products, and downstream exposures
  • Develop and maintain risk metrics (e.g. VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis) for freight and downstream portfolios
  • Ensure accurate capture and valuation of physical and derivative positions
  • Assess exposure to freight rates (e.g. tanker, dry bulk, time charter, spot exposure)
  • Support hedging strategies using freight derivatives (e.g. FFAs) where applicable
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • At least 7 years in a Market Risk role
  • Strong understanding of freight markets and/or downstream commodity value chains
  • Experience with derivatives, hedging strategies, and risk measurement techniques
  • Ideally experienced in managing a team
