Our client is a high-growth organisation, looking for a Global Accounting Director. This new role reports to the CFO and oversees accounting operations both in Germany and internationally.

Key elements include:

  • Financial consolidation - setting up processes and overseeing, collaborating with regional teams
  • Tax compliance and strategy
  • Process and system implementation, developing and ensuring policies and procedures
  • Team leadership and management, ensuring alignment and consistency
  • Stakeholder collaboration - with executives to support strategic decision making, providing insights and recommendations based on financial analysis and reporting
  • Continuous improvement, staying informed on trends and regulatory changes,

The role would ideally be based out of their Berlin office on a hybrid basis (3 days office, 2 home), but this could be flexible, including being based out of their office in Poland. 

They are looking for:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Min 10 years' accounting experience with 5 in a leadership role, overseeing international teams
  • Experience in implementing accounting systems and process improvements, including exposure to digital transformation/process improvement
  • Strong knowledge of international accounting standards, tax regulations, eCommerce industry practices, IFRS
  • Good knowledge of German GAAP/HGB
  • Track record in managing financial consolidations for multinational entities
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Fluent German and English

Advantageous:

  • Experience of Netsuite
  • Polish language
  • CPA or equivalent certification
  • Experience and expertise in setting up compliance/governance framework in a high-growth organisation, internationally
  • Understanding of European ESG regulations
