Our client, a Big-4 Consulting firm is currently experiencing phenomenal growth in their Safeguarding Risk Advisory Practice. We would like to speak to  Safeguarding professionals across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane & Canberra who are looking to start a consulting career with their knowledge and experience working with vulnerable people.

As a professional Risk Consultant, you’ll work with like-minded people who are passionate and courageous about creating safe environments for children, young people and vulnerable adults, by supporting clients (NFPs, Government Agencies, Superannuation Funds, Health Insurers etc.) to meet and exceed their safeguarding requirements. You will also support vulnerable people to understand their rights, and empower them to speak up, as well as to govern the systems, processes and policies to protect and promote the safety and wellbeing of people.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Review or develop organisations' policies, procedures and systems to ensure they promote the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable people.
  • Support client delivery by assisting the leadership team help clients deliver their safeguarding needs and strategic objectives.
  • Stay abreast of Royal Commissions' requirements on safeguarding related systems, processes and policies with client organisations.
  • Work in a team to conduct current state assessment and gap analysis against different standards and regulation.
  • Contributes to engagement planning, administration and delivery of engagements including active management of timelines, project management, resource allocation, budget monitoring and prioritisation of multiple tasks.
  • Evaluate safety culture, hearing directly from vulnerable people to understand why children, young people and vulnerable adults do or do not feel safe.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to make an impact to the Community as well as the Safeguarding Risk Advisory Practice.
  • Identify ways to analyse information quickly and efficiently, using innovative and creative solutions to solve problems.

Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification preferably in Human Services, Commerce, Law or similar.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in governance, risk and compliance roles within consultancy and/or within regulatory bodies.
  • Internal audit experience would be highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of risk, governance and compliance frameworks, standards, audits and reviews.
  • Strong emphathy and compassion skills.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.
  • High Emotional Intelligence and self-awareness including an understanding of the sensitivity of the subject matter such as discussion with children and disclosure of abuse.
