Role Responsibilities:
  • Provide independent and specialist 1st line risk and controls advice to the Managed Fund business, working closely with Portfolio Managers and the Investment Middle Office.
  • Drive and implement risk management and monitoring obligations in the business, supporting consistent implementation, and embedding of risk management frameworks, policies and controls.
  • Support the business in developing their risk profile, including defining and operationalising relevant RAS metrics.
  • Proactively monitor, report and manage current and emerging risks and facilitate a strong risk culture, risk awareness and ownership of risk throughout the business.
  • Perform reviews on the risk & control environment for certain portfolios / business functions / product areas.
  • Assist the business in the assessment, actioning and remediation of risk issues to strengthen the control environment.
  • Keep abreast of legislative updates and consider their applicability to the business.
  • Respond to requests from the project stakeholders and external auditors.

Skill Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in Banking, Financial Markets, Funds or Investment Management.
  • Strong understating of risk identification, rectification and controls uplift.
  • Knowledge of multiple asset classes (esp. Derivatives) is a big plus.
  • Any experience in AML requirements, Technology Risk and Data would be a plus.
  • Due to the breadth of the role, you will need to be comfortable developing relationships and influencing key stakeholders.
