Our client is a specialised insurance company offering a niche general insurance product. Their Australian operation is relatively small but highly profitable and part of a larger global insurance organisation. 

Reporting into a dynamic CEO and leading a small team of accounting, compliance and admin professionals, you will lead the delivery of end to end financial management of the business, FP&A, finance business partnering and compliance activities. 

Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Lead core functions of accounting, forecasting, budgeting, cost and risk control, treasury and group and statutory reporting
  • Lead team of finance and compliance professionals in partnering with the business to deliver insightful analysis and commentary
  • Liaise closely with group and regional stakeholders in managing compliance activities to ensure the group meets it's internal and external obligations
  • Oversee risk management function
  • Implement group and regional transformation activities at a local level
  • Work closely with the underwriting teams to provide decision support to support growth and profitability

This is a particularly hands-on role in a small company and would suit an ambitious Senior Finance Manager or Senior FP&A Manager from a general insurance background looking for a step up in seniority and a broader end to end role.  

Required skills and experience:

  • CA/CPA qualified with a minimum of 5 years at the Senior Finance Manager / Senior FP&A Manager level
  • Deep knowledge of general insurance and the business drivers
  • Sound knowledge of insurance accounting 
  • Outstanding leadership and stakeholder management skills
