About the role:

Our client is a provider of integrated financial planning and advisory services with national footprints. They're looking for a well-rounded Senior Risk Manager to work closely with business stakeholders and reporting into the Chief Risk Officer.

 
Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the provision of specialist and expert advice to support the management of risk across group.
  • Foster relationships with Senior Leaders to understand the operational risk environment while providing analysis and insight to inform the group's strategic risk profile.
  • Coordinate the implementation of Operational Risk Management Policy and support procedures and plans.
  • Provide risk management information, guidance, advice, and reports that can be relied by Senior Management and the Risk Committee.
  • Build, maintain and foster relationships with senior leaders to negotiate, influence and build consensus.
  • Lead, enhance and embed a positive and proactive risk culture.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • 5+ years in a Risk, Compliance or Audit role within the Banking and Finance industry.
  • Proven experience in applying AS/NZS ISO 31000: 2018 risk management guidelines.
  • Strong relationship building, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills including demonstrated ability to quickly assimilate new concepts and information and deliver positive and innovative solutions with tangible business outcomes.
  • Previous risk advisory support to Line 1 business unit teams would be highly regarded.
