An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Risk Manager to join a reputable Investments business. This role is primarily accountable for delivering a strategic and integrated approach to risk and compliance across their platforms, and will also need to interact with other key product and service areas.

The role will support the Risk team and senior management in improving operating practices and processes, to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of risk and compliance management and business discipline. This will be particularly in relation to risk oversight and challenge for the delivery of the strategic plan for the future state. 


Your Responsibilities

  • Support the oversight and challenge of incidents and issue management of the platforms business.
  • Assess incidents to determine if they constitute compliance breaches and are reportable.
  • Support the oversight of the periodic review of the Risk Appetite Statements metrics.
  • Support the identification of risk insights to influence business decisions through industry networking and benchmarking, periodic risk reviews, reporting and analytics.
  • Conduct and oversee Compliance Assessments and assist with providing Compliance advice to the Risk & Compliance team.
  • Support better practice regarding the risk and compliance framework.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, including interpretation for the business to ensure relevance.
  • Support and participate in Risk Forums and Project Steering Committees.

Skill Requirements

  • 5+ years of Financial Services industry experience in a Risk or Compliance function.
  • Broad understanding of the wealth management risk and compliance environment, with knowledge of wealth products, platforms, and distribution operations.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management capabilities especially in dealing with senior stakeholders such as Boards and Directors.
  • Experience in writing board papers is desirable.
  • Legal qualification is highly desirable but not essential.
