Division/Country: Group Risk Compliance & Security/ Hong Kong
Immediate Supervisor’s Position Title: Group-wide Governance and Reporting Director

Role Purpose:
One or two sentences summarizing why the role exists, the unique contribution it makes to the organization.

The Senior Manager will play a key role in transforming the way in which the Group’s policies are structured through simplifying the policy structure. The role holder will also be expected to play a key role in other risk and governance initiatives the team drives.

Organisation Context: Brief description of how the role fits into the big picture (e.g., how it relates to activities in other divisions, other countries, regional office, etc.) and/or special characteristics of the business environment that help in understanding the role’s contribution to the organisation.

Changes are required to the way in which the LBUs govern their businesses. The Group’s policy / framework structure has been complex. Following 2024’s simplification exercise LBUs will be expected to adopt Group policies and develop local addendums to them where appropriate. This marks a significant shift in approach as the Group has relied on a more federated model in the past where LBUs have had flexibility to define local policies and follow an attestation-based approach to confirm compliance with Group policies.
There is a need to promote responsibility, accountability across the organisation, promote and a positive risk culture and instil the desired attitude and behaviour towards risk management across the Group. Our approach to communication, training and awareness across the organisation requires enhancement especially in context of the continued focus expected over the next few years on transformation to execute our new Group strategy and specific transformation initiatives to elevate  the embedding of our non-financial risk framework.
