I am recruiting a Senior Risk Manager to lead the design and implementation of conduct risk controls across Group Operations (all brands) for a big 4 bank in Sydney.

The role would suit a Risk professional who has experience developing and implementing frameworks / controls as well as has an innate desire to operate in the best interests of the customer.  Someone with a strong line 1 risk background.

Conduct risk focuses on making sure a business holds the highest possible standards for itself - not just focusing on implementing bare bones controls that keep the regulators happy. It is about striving to operate in a way that gives the best possible outcomes for customers.

Role Responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing a conduct risk framework which drives strong risk and compliance culture in line with our Code of Conduct, Values & Behaviours.
  • Effective monitoring and reporting of conduct alerts in GO.
  • Provide advice and oversight over risk assessments, controls, incident and issue management.
  • The provision of a quality assurance program that will sit across the suite of Conduct Risk alerts for GO.
Role Requirements
  • 5+ years’ of operational risk advisory experience in a relevant area or with another financial services organisation. This includes experience in managing risks, controls, issues and incidents as well as management reporting.
  • Experience in developing and implementing risk and control frameworks or policies.
  • A strong knowledge of the operational processes and systems that support banking products as well as demonstrable experience in monitoring or oversight of quality assurance programs.
  • Proven experience of influencing and collaborating effectively with key stakeholders, excellent written and verbal communication skills and prioritisation skills.
