Our client is growing at a rapid pace and is looking at expanding their Finance Team. They are looking for people who can get things done and will appreciate being part of an accountable, high-performance culture.

As a Financial Accountant, you will have responsibilities relating to the preparation and analysis of monthly management reports across the Australia and New Zealand group of entities as well as responsibilities for streamlining and optimising the financial accounting and statutory compliance function.

We are looking for an ambitious and driven Big 4 trained Financial Accountant that’s ready to make their first move into an exciting and fast paced role that has a clear career path into a Financial Management and Controllership.

Responsibilities (key tasks and requirements of the role)

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) including supporting reconciliations and schedules. 
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand actual vs budget variances and contribute to providing meaningful commentary.
  • Reconcile all assigned balance sheet accounts monthly.
  • Prepare monthly BAS returns.
  • Assist Accounting Manager with year-end audit requirements.
  • Work with the finance shared services team to ensure subsidiary AP, AR and payroll is processed in a timely manner and with no errors.
  • Carry out special projects, analysis or tasks as required.
  • Continually improve internal controls and processes.
  • Facilitate and promote teamwork mentality.
  • Proactively seek to understand the business, product, and legal software market

  • Accounting / professional knowledge and skills – having achieved a sound level of technical and professional skill and knowledge, keep up to date with changes in accounting standards, tax, and developments in financial systems and practices.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Big 4 trained, with minimum 3 years’ experience
  • Completed or currently completing CA or CPA
  • Solid understanding of accounting standards, effective internal control environment and audit requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Highly developed problem solving and analytical skills
