The Senior Data Analyst leads data analysis and reporting capabilities across the office. The position manages processes for acquiring, cleansing, storing, and extracting data for analysis and is responsible for data collected through the range of functional areas across the office.
 
Key accountabilities
  • Manage and lead initiatives in the design, development and maintenance of data processes and data integrity across all the organisations functions, including activities for continuous data improvement, in line with strategic priorities and directions.
  • Ensure a robust data platform is maintained and processes and procedures are in place to identify and remediate potential data quality and performance issues.
  • Ensure business requirements are accurately interpreted and manage the acquisition, extraction, and analysis of data to provide insights for internal and external stakeholders, including developing and delivering complex, real-time dashboards for monitoring issues, trends, and performance.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures that control the acquisition, analysis and release of data and reports, including thorough quality assurance reviews (involving subject matter experts, where appropriate).
  • Lead and manage all activities to prepare data for reporting and analysis, including the developing and optimising SQL and R queries (or other tools, as appropriate) and supervision and support to staff involved in data preparation.
  • Work closely with the Principal Project Officer and key internal stakeholders to develop and implement processes and systems for gathering, analysis, and reporting of data across various functions.
  • Manage mortality classification processes for child deaths, including thorough quality assurance.
  • Manage and maintain productive working relationships with internal stakeholders and business areas and information exchange arrangements with external stakeholders, including managing the provision of death data for research purposes, data for comparison with other agencies, and receipt of data from external agencies.
