Exciting oppitunity to join a leading company in the Media industry. Our client is expanding and looking for an Assistant Account -  12 month contract based in Sydney CBD. 
The team is vibrant, high preforming and this role could be a gate way to new oppitunities. 

Job Functions

Accounting systems
  • Add new division and expense codes as required
  • Organise addition of new users to all accounting systems
  • Assign Business Units for new projects in Salesforce
 
Monthly Accounting
  • Prepare various adhoc month-end journals and accruals
  • Collate and review balance sheet reconciliations from team for Manager review
  • Work closely with our outsourced team to cleanse all balances and accounts, ensuring we only transfer the most accurate data to SAP.
 
Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable
  • Support the Accounts Payable function in conjunction with outsourced AP team.
  • Review of Aged Creditors to ensure all invoices processed and accounted for in a timely manner
  • Prepare AP reports as and when required
  • Supporting the Accounts Receivable function by reviewing and managing the debtor’s ledger
  • Preparing AR reports and escalating major issues in a timely and proactive way
 
Intercompany       
  • Preparation and reconciliation of the statements
  • Assist with intercompany payables for the monthly settlement cycle
  • Assist with monthly intercompany reconciliation
 
Other
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Maintain Cab charge books and register
  • Prepare all customer claims and rebates in coordination with WNS for review by financial accountant
  • Adhoc SAP tasks as required by Management
  • Adhoc assistance with the global compliance testing (SOX)
  • Adhoc tasks as required by Management
 
Job Requirements

Technical
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance
  • Strong excel skills
  • Strong skills in ERP system (JDE/SAP preferred)
  • Business Objects experience ideal
 
Business
  • An understanding of the music industry is ideal
  • Minimum two years commercial experience in high volume processing environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) as well as the ability to present ideas and problem solving effectively to varying groups of people.
  • Change management experience
 
Qualifications
Secondary                         HSC or equivalent
Tertiary / T.A.F.E.               Accounting or Business Degree
Professional                       Studying towards CA or CPA
