An opportunity has arisen in Group Tax for an experienced (immediately available) Senior Tax Accountant / Manager to join a progressive and diverse team on a six month contract basis.  The role responsibilities are broad ranging and the individual will take ownership for group-wide Direct and Indirect tax compliance and reporting.

Specific role responsibilities include:
  • Timely and accurate preparation of the annual income tax return and annual AIIR from an entity perspective;
  • Completion of domestic Business Activity statements on a monthly basis;
  • Completion of both tax provisions and tax balances in the general ledger;
  • Tax effect accounting;
  • Calculation of PAYG Instalment Income;
  • Assist Group Taxation with transfer pricing, controlled foreign company and withholding tax issues associated with cross border transactions;
Suitable candidates will demonstrate thought leadership and subject matter expertise with a demonstrated ability in identifying process weaknesses and implementing change and process improvement. You must ensure a strong customer service ethic is demonstrated and through advanced interpersonal skills, be able to effectively manage stakeholders and develop relationships with people at all levels of the organisation.

Specific experience includes:
  • Qualified CA / CPA / Master of Tax
  • Minimum of 5+ years relevant tax compliance and reporting experience
  • Thorough understanding of the Australian Income Tax and/or GST regime
  • Prior experience working in a tax compliance / tax accounting function (highly regarded)
  • Experience gained from either a consultancy (Big 4 /2nd tier tax firm) or direct In-house tax team (must have)
  • Sound knowledge of relevant Accounting Standards
