Our Client a Leading NSW Government Department are looking for a Senior Financial Business Advisor to join their team on  a 3 month contract. There is potential for this to turn not a long term position.

The Senior Business Advisor assists with Housing And Property Consolidation and Central Coordination including budgets, forecasts and forward estimates, risk registers, monthly reporting, and coordination of improvements to data analytics and reporting. The role also provides financial advice and support to all Executives and the Business Advisory team within the division.
 
Key Accountabilities
  • Coordinate the collation from Housing & Property General Government agencies of budgets and forward estimates data for Central Finance’s submission to NSW Treasury ensuring compliance with presentation standards, submission deadlines and relevant policy and statutory requirements
  • Coordinate and oversee the divisions’ maintenance of the budget and forward estimates data of divisions to Central Finance in NSW Treasury databases ensuring optimal levels of accuracy and data integrity.
  • Provide expert financial advice to the Executive and colleagues around funding requests and allocations; analyse and commercially challenge business plans and funding proposals in complex situations contributing to future business strategies Manage the divisions’ appropriation and ensure that entities within are allocated in accordance with agreed and approved funding limits.
  • Manage risk registers including COVID, stimulus package, PTA, NPP, Capital budget, carry forwards, ERC submissions, ad-hoc projects, internal and external budget transfers, business plans and other Central Finance related requests and budget reconciliations / adjustments to MyOutcomes.
  • Co-ordinate improvements to data analytics and reporting from My Outcomes (working with the MyOutcomes team) to meet business needs, and provide consolidated monthly reporting and commentaries for the DPIE leadership team.

Essential requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance or relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Current Drivers License and willingness to travel
  • Advanced Excel Skills and experience with SAP
